Thirty-first Connection: Expressing Emotions without Words
The Echoing the Victorian language of flowers, that tied plant characteristics to the expression of emotion and gave people a way to express these emotions without words, the black and white shapes shown here in a detail of my ©2007 installation Hambone Laments all are inspired by plant/flower shapes. A cluster of ink jet printed on cotton tulips droops over each other to the right. Most shapes are leaves, not flowers, and many are sharply toothed and spiky such as dandelion leaves.
