Forty-fifth Connection: Y = why
In the cleanly organized compositional space of this 1986 drawing with it’s delicate attention to the edges of the paper and tenderly rendered headless armless lump of human flesh floating in its center- the letter Y = the question “why?” Lambs to Slaughter is equal parts sorrowful protest and joyful anthem in possible answer to the question of human mortality. Text, in gold ink, in the bottom half of the drawing reads: “Skip to my Lou, my darling”.
