Seventy-eighth Connection: Layers of shadows

If you look out from inside the house the evening light seems flatly dark. Once you are outside surrounded by it, after your eyes adjust (and you are spared the blindness created by an onslaught of car headlights) you become aware of the layers of shadow transforming the ordinary daytime world. This drawing Lamppost and Shadow©1999 comes from a series inspired by being outside at night near the time of Halloween.
